XEMIS – Gravimetric Sorption Analysis in Extreme Environments

XEMIS instrument from Hiden Isochema

The XEMIS sorption microbalance is designed to allow gravimetric gas and vapour sorption measurements under harsh conditions, with high pressure or corrosive species.

XEMIS uses a proprietary balance mechanism which gives excellent performance comparable to our well known IGA gas and vapour sorption microbalances.

A modular design concept allows a wide range of different configurations, to address the full range of sorption applications.

Application Areas :

  • Gas storage : H2, CH4, CO2
  • Corrosive gases : SO2, NH3, CO, …
  • Gas sorption for separation
  • Chemisorption studies
  • Geological gas storage and coal bed methane studies
  • Gas solubility in ionic liquids
  • Sorption kinetic analysis

Key Specifications :

Balance :
    Capacity : 5 g
